Ministries help to invite others to a relationship with Christ, deepen your potential and provide service to the community.
Worship
Worship is turning our attention toward God, recognizing God for who God is, responding to God with our whole selves, and allowing that response to shape how we live. It is much bigger than singing, or music.
It can’t be forced, and it can’t be exactly the same every week - because as God works in us we grow and change, so worship also evolves, changes, and is organic. We don’t freeze a moment - we keep growing and learning.
At Kochenderfer UMC, our times of gathered worship include public reading from scriptures, praying, singing, times of silence, a sermon/teaching, giving gifts, sharing needs and concerns, support and encouragement to others.
“Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.”
— Matthew 4:10
Notice that worship and service are connected. According to the Bible, worship isn't merely emotional expression toward God. It results in allegiance to God, and is recognized in actions that make a difference in your life.
Discipleship
From Bible study and prayer opportunities to Sunday school, there’s so much to learn about the character of God, His teachings, and discovering more about our relationship with Him.
Fellowship
Reading the New Testament, we hear so much of how Christians interacted with one another. We still practice this to encourage one another in our walk with Christ. Check out the calendar, where you can find opportunities for real friendship with other brothers and sisters in Christ! Get connected!
Outreach
Part of our calling is being able to reach others in the world that still need the gospel and hope. With Kochenderfer’s UMC, there are many ways you can do that!
